So what will you do at vidIQ in this role?

We are looking for an experienced Lead/Manager Site Reliability Engineer to oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure and services. This person does not fear to rollup the sleeves and show by own example how things have to be done. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities:




  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for infrastructure growth, ensuring scalability and efficiency in line with organizational objectives

  • Build processes and tools to bolster system stability, focusing on proactive measures to minimize downtime and enhance overall system resilience.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers from different teams, to understand and integrate their technical requirements into the infrastructure development.

  • Oversee and refine CI/CD processes and tool integrations to enhance development and deployment workflows.

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of DevOps professionals, cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Establish robust security practices, manage access controls, and oversee SSH key rotations.

Job requirements

Required technical skills: 

  • 7+ years of hands-on SRE/DevOps experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS:
    EC2, EKS, IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, ElasticCache, Kinesis Firehose, S3, VPC, Lambdas, Route53

  • Good understanding of networks.

  • Strong knowledge in setting up proper security within the growing organization (accesses, SSH key rotation, etc.)

  • Experience in setting up monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus) and alerting for different kinds of systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of Python, bash/shell, Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch (management, tuning, backups)


Required non-technical skills: 

  • 2+ years of experience in leading/mentoring team members

  • Good communication skills with technical and non-technical people

  • Good writing skills (documentation, instructions, tutorials, reports)

  • Strong analytical skills — the ability to decompose complex problems into smaller pieces

  • Ability to deliver observable results iteratively

  • Understanding of strategic goals and their mapping on short-term goals

  • Remote work experience
