Social Media Manager

Overview:

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning and managing vidIQ’s social media strategy. We are looking for a creative candidate who is passionate about YouTube and social media, buzzed about engaging with our online community and is ready to win the hearts and minds of our existing and new fans. The perfect candidate will be a creative, enthusiastic storyteller who is familiar with all social platforms, understands nuance between them, and plans the right content and fan interactions on each. The Social Media Manager must be able to assist in the creation of strategy but also scrappy enough to execute posting content and interact with fans.

This candidate is a self-starter and leader with meticulous attention to detail and the proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. They'll be motivated to invent, evolve, and activate social media growth strategies across multiple channels. They will obsess over insights to understand performance and build on those learnings.

  • The ability to work/adjust in a fast-paced environment and keep forward-thinking momentum

  • A passion for leading/inspiring creativity, cooperation, and collaboration amongst team members.

  • Flexibility: you know that the internet never sleeps – some evening and weekend work may be required.

  • Manage day-to-day campaign flow, including creative and social listening efforts for all vidIQ social platforms.

  • Source, create, and publish timely social media content (including photo, video, and audio content) to inform, educate, and inspire video creators worldwide.

  • Work with vidIQ’s content creators to create and maintain a social media content calendar.

  • Develop and manage growth strategy for current and emerging social channels.

  • Be a subject matter expert on all things social, inclusive of social listening and data insights.

  • Communicate direction, best practices, and new opportunities to marketing stakeholders.

  • Leverage social listening tools to surface trends and watchouts

  • Analyze and report on progress against goals and relevant social marketing metrics for in-depth business reviews and reports for senior leadership

Nice to have:

  • Social media analytics tools similar to what we use are:
    • Tweetbot, Sprout Social, Awario, Brand24, Hootsuite

  • Other platforms/communities that would be good to have experience with:
    • Discord, Reddit

  • Writing and image/video editing skills for social media posts, short-form video (social video), stories, etc.
    • Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop or other image/graphic tools popular among social media creators

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, or similar field

  • 4 years of experience managing social media accounts and proven ability to scale social media fan bases across Facebook (Pages and groups), Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and elsewhere.

  • Familiarity with metrics and analytical tools native to social platforms (Meta - Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tiktok, YouTube, Snapchat) analytics, and third-party tools like Iconosquare, RivalIQ, etc

  • Writing, image/video editing, and story creation skills

  • Strong communication, research, and presentation skills

  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
